Artists and hand painting

When the bottle is the canvas.

The TIGUERÓN vision: collaborations with Dominican artists and a bottle preserving the mark of its painter.

TIGUERÓN seeks to fuse Dominican art, premium rum and larimar in one object. The bottle is not a surface for repeating an image: it is a piece an artist interprets by hand.

THE ESSENTIAL IDEA

A collection shares an artistic intention. Every bottle preserves variations in execution and a stone with its own identity.

01

The artist at the heart of the collection

Our vision encompasses successive strictly limited collections developed with Dominican artists. Each collaboration may propose its own visual world within the TIGUERÓN identity.

We value an individual's perspective, sensitivity and the way their work relates to the island. When collaborations are confirmed, authorship will have a visible place: name, story and context, without invented biographies or generic attribution.

02

Painting volume changes composition

Ceramic introduces curves, relief and transitions. A leaf crosses a shoulder; a flower follows the chest; a stroke can continue onto a side, revealing itself when the piece turns.

Thinking in three dimensions requires deciding where to concentrate colour and where to let ivory or black breathe. Visual richness does not depend on covering the whole surface. It also grows from pauses, proportions and areas of calm.

03

The visible difference of the hand

Handwork brings small variations in stroke, placement and rhythm. In our project, these differences form part of the artistic intention and each bottle's individual identity.

Individuality does not mean abandoning care. We distinguish expressive variation from careless execution: the former tells a story; the latter needs attention. The piece should feel deliberate on close inspection.

04

The work and the vessel

A rum bottle must also fulfil its function. Form, stability, closure and finishes require the same rigour as its exterior appearance. Our intention is to unite sculptural presence with use.

This balance prevents ceramic from becoming mere luxury wrapping. Form and painting are designed together, while rum selection maintains its own standards. None of the three parts—work, material and contents—should disguise the others.

05

A piece that remains

The bottle is conceived to have a presence beyond serving. It can occupy a library, display cabinet or console as an artistic object with a recognisable story.

Our purpose is not to manufacture scenery for a photograph. It is to create a family of pieces worth observing, comparing and keeping. That desired permanence begins with a simple question: what does this collection offer that only this collaboration can tell?
